About
Christopher Jones caught the sailing bug in 1969 and has yet to be cured of it. He has spent his life on and around sailboats — from deliveries to racing, instructing to navigating, and from being the chef (yes, chef!) to the captain. His experience includes commissioning, maintaining, and piloting sailing vessels from Newport, Rhode Island to Trinidad, West Indies. Before arriving in New York Harbor in 1997, Chris represented several interests in hurricane salvage in the West Indies and managed eighteen yachts at the Simpson Bay Yacht Club in St. Maarten.
Launched by Chris in 1997, NYHS Sailing has maintained a reputation for professionalism and excellence. Located on the Morris Canal in Jersey City, New Jersey, it is easily accessible from Manhattan and most points along the northeast coast. Arrangements with management at most marinas and appropriate insurance policies allow NYHS Sailing to work in any marina. Christopher Jones and his team have completed various projects from Brooklyn to Upper New York Harbor.
